As my brother has a passion for powerlifting and gaming, one of the biggest challenges he has faced is getting proper nutrition in his daily diet.
While you might not think it, poor nutrition has a negative impact on mood, energy, focus, and more. Now it won't make you better at a gaming session, but it most definitely will allow you to perform your best.
Pro gamers have nutrition regiments and training programs to abide by. This allows them to perform their best when the time comes.
In this post, we are going to dive into our recommended supplements for gamers.
Foundational Supplements are supplements that fill in any nutritional gaps you might have in your daily diet. Most of us don't get enough vitamins, minerals, fruits, and vegetables in our diets. These supplements fill some of these gaps.
Although these are used to fill in nutritional gaps, these supplements don't replace a bad diet. Supplements only augment your lifestyle: if your nutrition, exercise, and sleep are in check, they're going to work better for you.
With that being said, let's dive in!
Multivitamins consist of various vitamins and minerals we may need in our daily diet or lifestyle.
When we were younger, our parents may have given us multivitamins to be healthier. The reason why multivitamins exist is to fill any nutritional gaps in our lifestyle.
Some of us may not necessarily need them, yet I prefer to use them as extra "insurance". You might need a multivitamin to cover my deficiencies if you're looking to lose body fat, or when you don't eat enough fruits, vegetables, and grains daily.
Fish Oil contains Omega-3 fatty acids that are known as "good fats". These fatty acids help to reduce triglyceride levels, and reducing these levels is good for your heart health.
Now not everyone can eat fish consistently because our wallets would hurt. Some people hate fish as well.
Fish Oil is to provide you a way to get healthier fats without having to consume fish frequently.
In the United States, we tend to consume more Omega-6's than Omega-3's in our diet - usually 15 times more. It is recommended to get as close as balanced as possible, which is why we also supplement with fish oil.
For more on Fish Oil, you can read about it here.
Greens and Reds supplements are supplements that are used by individuals who might not get the proper intake of fruits or vegetables in.
Sometimes gaming sessions might consume you, and sometimes nutrition is last in line.
If you forget the opportunity to get 3-5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day, greens or reds will help you fill in these gaps.
Lifestyle Supplements are supplements that improve or augment your lifestyle. Depending on your goals, lifestyle supplements can really take your energy and focus to another level.
These supplements should be taken only for specific benefits once you implement nutrition, exercise, and sleep. Our recommended lifestyle supplements include Nootropics and Adaptogens - our specialty!
Nootropics are brain boosters that help with a plethora of the following benefits.
The following are our favorite for intense gaming sessions:
Some nootropics must be taken consistently over the course of a few weeks. Others can be felt in a matter of a few days.
Our energy supplement Impulse combines the nootropics like Citicoline and Huperzine-A to synergistically work with one another. Most of the Reforged Legion feels these effects within the first or second scoop of Impulse!
You can read about Impulse here.
Adaptogens are herbal supplements that focus on benefitting people in physical and mental performance. Just like nootropics, adaptogens benefit us by improving energy and mood. They also help with reducing stress and fatigue.
Adaptogens typically benefit you over the course of a few weeks, compared to some nootropics where you feel results over the course of time.
With our nootropic-adaptogen Spark, we formulated our favorite adaptogens together to reforge you.
You can read all about Spark here.
As you can see, there are various types of supplements that will improve your lifestyle or your performance - directly or indirectly.
Most of our favorite streamers understand this. They utilize exercise, nutrition, and supplementation to benefit them.
Remember that supplements only augment your lifestyle: without proper nutrition, exercise, and sleep, supplements will not work to their best potential for you.
In the future, we will discuss more on exercise, nutrition, and sleep for gamers and streamers. These are areas we feel that are neglected and are really important for your lifestyle.
In the meantime, feel free to email me tony@reforgedperformance.com, or look through our articles for more general information that will reforge you.
Until next time Reforged Legion!

A few weeks ago, my buddy Grant and I talked about nutrition.
We talked about how he's lost over 120 pounds so far with the weight loss progress he's been making.
This is all because he has been making healthier decisions over time.
One of the newest challenges he's facing right now is he's got a new job. He's working 10 to 12 hour days with physical demanding labor.
And what's been happening for him is that he's been super exhausted, he's not motivated to meal prep, he's having trouble trying to sit down and cook foods doesn't have the energy doesn't have the time.
So what I propose is five tips that you can use to live a more on the go fast food healthy eating lifestyle.
