A few years back, it was very common to see various fitness competitors get in trouble for banned substances - because of supplements.

I remember one in particular competed and got disqualified because of one of his Pre-Workout products contain a banned substance. This sadly ruined his reputation for quite some time.

We don't want things like that to happen to you, and we never want to see your health jeopardized by using supplements.

So in this short post, we are going to dive into recommendations tactical and performance athletes should consider when taking supplements.

Let's dive in!

Supplement Recommendations

Before we get into our recommendations, we wanted you to understand the basic regulations of the Supplement Industry. With the supplement industry, the FDA does regulate it to an extent. However, supplements can be created and marketed in the industry without the FDA inspecting it, just so long as they follow guidelines.

However, not every company follows these guidelines. Due to the rise of many companies (like ours), there is a chance that questionable products hit the market.

Our goal is to give you the certainty that our brand is following proper regulations and recommendations set forth by many standards.

So with that, let's dive into recommendations before purchasing supplements.

As always, consult with a doctor or physician before taking supplements.

WADA and USADA Standards

WADA and USADA standards are big standards that the best supplement brands should utilize when developing their products.

WADA stands for the "World Anti-Doping Agency", which is an international independent agency for sports and athletic performance. Most big international sports (and even Natural Bodybuilding) divisions use WADA for their testing standards.

The USADA is the "United States Anti-Doping Agency". This agency focuses directly on Olympic, Paralympic, Pan American, and Parapan American Sport. They manage doping regulations in these respective areas of sport. They also utilize WADA for their anti-doping practices.

We use WADA with our supplement selection so you don't have to be concerned when taking something that could be detrimental to your health.

Be Aware of "High-Risk" Supplements

As defined through NSCA's Tactical Strength and Conditioning, we should be aware of certain supplements with higher risk to health and performance.

Consider the following when purchasing supplements:

  • Be skeptical of Proprietary Blends or MatrixesMultiple ingredients without exact dosing on each ingredient should be looked at carefully with skepticism. Focus on supplements with single ingredients or few ingredients. With our products, we accomplished these goals.
  • View Testosterone Boosters carefully: Some of these do not work, and some must also be viewed carefully through WADA or the USADA.
  • Steer clear of products with Unrealistic ClaimsThese are always a red-flag. Always read the labels on supplements before purchasing them.
  • Steroid-like Names are a red-flag: Any supplement that sounds something like "testostobol" should be avoided. There's also a reason why platforms like Google, Facebook, and Amazon refuse to sell these kind of products in their stores.

If your preferred supplement brand gets their supplements individually FDA-tested, then you that they are a more trustworthy brand.

While we do use WADA to guide our product choice, we are working towards getting our products FDA-tested so that we can build more trust and credibility with you all.

Supplement "Smart-ly"

If you follow these simple guidelines, you should be able to figure out what supplements are better for you than others.

We believe that supplements with individual ingredients or non-proprietary blends are the way to go, which is why we embedded it in our brand philosophy.

When picking your supplements, please view the brands carefully and see if they align with your goals.

That's it for this one, Reforged Legion!
